Join APA's Member-Get-A-Member Campaign


Recruiters -- be recognized for your efforts with special prizes!

APA members are the collective voice of psychiatry. By recruiting your peers as members, you are helping to strengthen the future of psychiatry for you and your patients. Most APA members recognize how beneficial their membership is in their professional lives. With this campaign, we rely on you to get the word out about the benefits of APA membership. Beginning January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2008, APA will be conducting the Member-Get-A-Member (MGM) Program to encourage members to recruit their colleagues to join the APA. All recruiters will receive recognition and be eligible for special prizes for their efforts.

Rules of the Program

• The contest is open to all APA members in good standing.
• The member recruiter must provide APA with his/her name, APA Member ID, and email address to be recognized as a participant in the MGM program.
• The member recruiter must provide the name, address, email and phone number of the colleague being referred for membership to receive credit for the new referral.
• Eligible referrals include psychiatry residents (Members-in-Training) and fully trained psychiatrists (General Members). Eligible referrals also include former members who have not been APA members for at least one year.
• This campaign does not apply to medical students or international members. (Note: International members are eligible to participate in a separate international Member-Get-A-Member program. Please contact Ricardo Juarez at rjuarez@psych.org for program details.)
  
• The referral must be approved and enrolled for membership by December 31, 2008 in order for the recruiter to be eligible for the grand prize drawing of one free year of membership dues (2009 dues year - national dues only) or free registration to the 2009 Annual Meeting.

Recognition and Awards

• All recruiters who refer at least one colleague will receive an APA recognition lapel pin and will have their name published on the APA website.
• All recruiters who refer at least one colleague will be eligible for a quarterly drawing to win a $100 American Express gift card.
• All recruiters whose referrals are approved and enrolled for membership by December 31, 2008 will receive a $25 APA "voucher" which can be applied towards APA dues, Annual Meeting registration fee, or APPI purchase.
• All recruiters whose referrals are approved and enrolled for membership by December 31, 2008 will also be eligible for the grand prize drawing to win complimentary registration for the APA Annual Meeting in May 2009 or a free year of membership (2009 national dues only).
• A second "grand prize" of complimentary registration for the APA Annual Meeting in May 2009 or a free year of membership (2009 national dues only)will also be awarded to the member who recruited the most new members.
